i guess the most suitable people who we need to give the details (about penalty )are the traffic police...because they are the one mainly responsible for that by accepting bribes :(...( but i fear knowing the high penalty whether they will increase their amount)
If only the traffic police get to know all these rules there will be traffic jams everywhere!
Chennai is becoming too bad for driving.Number of cars are increasing day by day. All buses and car drivers started driving like a two wheelers. There is no lane discipline followed by anybody. Sometimes obeying signal pose threat to life. Last week I applied break to avoid jumping signal in IRR, the fellow who came at the back abused me with bad words for stopping there. This is is the situation prevailing now. To add chaos to the situation are the mini trucks which hide the visibility in front and we cannot come to a conclusion about him, until we overtake him.

I can understand your plight. I too have been cursed by auto drivers nudged by autos and bumped by a car. So i take a look in the rear view mirror and side step but stop. I think i am an incurable rulaholic.

Hey very informative. Ok i have a slight problem, i am having a Karnataka Vehicle Tata india. Its already seized by the RTO saying that i have to pay the road tax for TAMIL nadu.
I was here from january. Now he is asking me to get life time tax for 11000 rps. Is there any way i can pay "annual tax" instead of "life tax" for this vehicle as i ll be here hardly for a year.

i had brought my two wheeler from A.P to chennai in this week only after two days i have been caught by police i have every document related to vwhicle but NOC is not therefore i have been charged for 1000/- i have paid and also they have not given receipt is it necessary for having NOC for short period like 2-3 months

Yeasterday Near to Chennai Perukulathoor over bridge ,I caught by traffic police for not wearing helmet ,i have helmet by the time but i failed to wear,at 10:30 am.
And he taken my bike key.
By the time
I have license duplicate
Have rc book duplicate
Valid insurance duplicate
I told to the police, I will pay the fine for not wearing helmet.
But he told me , you go to ur home and get original License and RC book and reach out Perukulathoor police station to get the fine receipt which needs to be paid on coming Friday at the front of the Court.
I agree with his commands and asked him to give my bike key , so that I can gohead and bring the original docs ,for security purpose I gave my original passport. But he failed accept my words .
And he asking me to reach out my home by bus or cab .
Since my home 18 km away from the spot .
And after I begging with him around 4 hrs , he gave me the bike key after 3Pm . and I went home and came back with original docs to get the receipt at 5pm
Hence for this incident I was not able to go to office .
Now I am anger with traffic police dept ,for wasting my whole day for not wearing helmet.
